A perfect weekend can never be perfect without a good book, at least for me. Reading makes me calm and keeps me sane amidst the daily dose of a toddler tantrum, writing assignments, and household chores. Every night, I fall for a vicious circle of just one more chapter then I am off to sleep and regret it the next morning.
J.K. Rowling aptly said that she believes something very magical can happen when you read a good book. Here are some fun and random facts about books. These will certainly take hold of the interest of any book enthusiast around the globe.
-
Most expensive book (Woah!):
The worldβs most expensive book ever purchased was bought by Bill Gates for $30.8 million. Leonardo da Vinci’s journal, Codex Leicester, is the world’s most expensive paper document. It was sold for $30.8 million in 1994.
-
Peter Pan (One of my favorite childhood books):
J.M. Barrie gave the rights of Peter Pan to the Childrenβs Hospital on Great Ormond Street in 1929, London so they could always collect royalties and funds from the hospital.

Talk about book reading goals (Letβs move there):
