“Your home should tell the story of who you are- and be a collection of what you love”
We build our house like our memory castle, each brick with love and affection. A place that brings us instant happiness or a corner that helps you rejuvenate. I have always been fascinated with simple yet aesthetic home decor. Home should have warmth and calmness.
Why did I decide to write about home decor?
Well, many of you, who have been following me on my social media platform, often ask questions about the background of the picture. Sometimes it’s a picture wall and other times it’s a study table. Each corner of a home should tell a story. We are more time at home than ever, all thanks to the current pandemic that the world is facing. Companies are spending more on making the home comfortable for work-from-home settings. I stay in a rented apartment. the changes I can do with decor is very limited.
In this blog, I will talk about the changes I brought in my home decor within a limited budget
In-house plants
Plants not only can brighten up your surroundings, but they can lift your mood. By creating texture and balance, a room or patio can be transformed into an environment that comforts and welcomes. Choose plants that are not high maintenance and buy colorful planters if you want to have a pop of colors in your room. DIY planters can serve a double purpose, you can enjoy making those as well as it will save some money.
Wall Stickers
I was never a fan of wall art before not because those weren’t pretty but because staying in a rented apartment comes with its own challenges. Then I found wall stickers on the internet and fell in love with them. It is easy to stick, brings an immense change of atmosphere, and leaves no mark after removal. These can come in really handy when you plan to decorate your little one’s room. These are not heavy on your pocket and there are plenty of options available to choose from.
Photographs
From preserving memories to be a beautiful part of your home, photographs can be a real game-changer in home decoration. I have been asked many times about the wall-of-photographs at my place every time I put up a picture on my social media. I absolutely love a little walk in the memory lane via this wall. Again, these does not charge bomb and you can play with different ideas on how to place it in your house.
I read it somewhere that It wasn’t a particular style or budget that makes a home special, but rather spaces that felt personal.
Fairy Lights and empty Glass bottles
I don’t even have to tell you how gorgeous fairy lights look because we all have seen tons of examples on Pinterest/the internet. There is not an empty glass bottle that gets thrown away from my place. From gorgeous planters to wall hangings, there is so much we can do with these. Don’t run after expensive lights or pre-decorated bottles in the market, bring your inner creativity out, and use this lockdown for some fun DIY.
Financial TIp:
As much as I love home decor, I must admit decorating the house you own has a different feel altogether. You can plan changes of your will and make decisions without any hesitation. I belong to the generation when having our own house was a matter of pride and it gave a sense of accomplishment. I remember the day we took our first step towards owning a house of dreams in this city.
Planning is the first step towards any goal and buying a house is not an exception too. Start planning and then saving to move closer to your dream. Never forget what Warren Buffet said about savings:
“Don’t save what is left after spending but spend what is left after saving”
When it comes to a home loan, don’t just trust what others are saying, read, research, learn, understand, and then make some decisions. Compare the interest rates and speak to different experts. Check the property and never hesitate in asking questions.
Please don’t forget to share your ideas on home decor in the comment section below, I would love to read your thoughts on the above-mentioned Ideas too.
